The Alsace
Strasbourg and Colmar are as Alsatian as it gets. I liked Strasbourg a lot—it basically runs on German hardware and French software. The tram is efficient, making it easy to get from the train station to downtown. The historic neighborhoods are just across the river from the newer developments, so like many European cities, you get to enjoy both. Colmar was so beautiful and curated that it almost feels like Disneyland, with surreal buildings, crowds of tourists, overpriced souvenirs, and generic shops.
