Annecy

Quick detour from Geneva, Annecy was just a 1 hour train ride away. One of the most beautiful lakes in France, maybe even in all of Europe. Before going, I was afraid the town would be as touristy as Colmar, but thanks to the lake and its more developed urban infrastructure, it didn’t feel that way. The old town was crowded and busy, but the real highlight was along the lake. That’s where it truly shines. People biking, swimming, playing volleyball, and hanging out with friends until dark. It felt so relaxed that life there almost seemed unreal.
