Wedding in Zhima

Zhima is a typical countryside village in Yunnan, with abundant farmland for vegetables and organically raised livestock. My grandma was born and raised here, so most of her siblings still live in the village. Before college, Zhima was our default place to spend the Spring Festival, who wouldn’t want to celebrate one of the most important holidays with the whole family gang? I used to stay for several weeks at most. This year, I made a day trip for a wedding, still the same fresh vegetables, hot dishes, and lively, chatty atmosphere everywhere. It was such a big contrast from where I live and work in Jersey.
